Definitely Worth It for Genshin Fans
Decent price, especially compared to some other vendors. A little upcharge here for acquisition and middleman costs, I assume (paid $199 here, which came out to $229 including shipping to my area. Other sites are selling this closer to $250 without shipping. Domestically in China, this collab product costs about $80 when converted to USD). While this isn't the cheapest price for this band you can find online, I've ordered from Giztop before, and they deliver authentic products—no knockoffs—and they do it quickly, efficiently, and safely. They're a reputable vendor, and I don't mind paying a little extra for that security.
The band itself does even more than I expected and is pretty amazing. I had a Fitbit back during the peak of their popularity, and this Xiaomi band knocks Fitbit out of the water, lol.
Some things to note:
1) This is not the international version of a Xiaomi band, and I doubt this collab will ever get one outside of the native Chinese version. You can still set the band's default language to English, and 90% of the apps function great in that language without any issues, but a couple apps will only use Mandarin Chinese. You can just ignore these, since they're nonessential apps that don't contribute much.
2) Because it's a native Chinese product, getting it set up just right will take a few extra steps and some extra time. For it to work, you need the Mi Fitness app on your phone (works for both Android and iOS), which the band will prompt you to install on your phone by giving you a QR code. Some of the download interface here may be in Chinese, but it's easy to figure out (there's an approval prompt you may get, but it's color coded, so just don't click the red option. If your phone's like "My bro, this thing looks sussy" you can ignore the warning, since this is an official product with reputable, licensed software. Your phone's just probably wigged out by the fact it's a non-native product). Once the app's installed, it'll be in English on your phone. You'll want to have a Xiaomi account to make full use of the app, which can be done by visiting their site and setting one up, which you can then log in to on the phone app. While there are some customization options on the band itself, using the Mi Fitness app has a lot more customization options for you to use and then sync to your band from your phone.
3) Speaking of syncing your band to the app on your phone, it's a little awkward to first get set up, lol. You need to set the region of the app to China for it to pair correctly (don't worry, everything will still be in English). And if you live in an area that has daylight savings, the time on the band may be off by about an hour compared to the time in your region (depending on what part of the DST cycle you're in). As of January 8th 2024, when I received the band, this was the case for me. It's fixable by going to your phone's settings and tinkering with the "set time / time zone automatically" option. The exact steps are long, so I won't list them here, but you can find them with a Google search or on Reddit. As for me, I just set my phone's region from PST to GMC, then manually put in the actual time in my region, and that made it so my phone and the band are both set to the right time. However, whenever daylight savings rolls around, you'll need to adjust the time on your phone to match. Not really a big deal, since it only happens twice a year.
4) For some apps to work right on your band, you'll need to set them up in the Mi Fitness app on your phone, first. An example would be tracking locations, and weather (which you can toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit in the Mi Fitness app, then sync to your band). I suggest that, once you get your band and Mi Fitness set up, you take some time to just poke around the both of them to further customize each to your preference. I personally adjusted the available widgets on the band by altering them with the phone app, because the default ones weren't quite what I wanted.
5) If you don't want to use the statue to charge your band, it also comes with a normal charger. This is what I'm using, since I wanted the Childe figure in my display case, lol.
6) This last note is not a reflection of this product in particular, because it's a potential issue with all skin-touching fitness trackers: The metal sensors may give you a rash if you're normally sensitive to metals, are prone to eczema, or easily get contact dermatitis. This is a problem I have, and I'm experimenting with some ways to work around it, but if you have sensitive skin like me, just know that this band, along with others like it, may also cause you some irritation.
That's all I can think of for now, but hopefully this info is helpful to others! Enjoy your Tartaglia Xiaomi band! I'm really loving mine. :D
