Xiaomi mystery phone photographed on Chinese subways

Recently, a new phone with a thick protective shell appeared in Chinese subways. Judging from the MI Logo and status bar on the protective shell, this is probably a new Xiaomi phone under a hefty disguise, though the question is which device is it?

From what we can see, the picture shows us that the device features a hole-punch camera on the center of the display. The right side of the phone holds the power button and the volume button. The power button seems to double as a fingerprint sensor.

If we had to guess, we’d assume this new mystery device is an upcoming Xiaomi CC series device, or perhaps a new device from Redmi. For now however, we’ve no other information on this new device.

Xiaomi has two new phones that will be released soon, namely the Xiaomi 10 Pro Super Cup and Redmi K30 Ultra. We’re looking forward to Xiaomi’s new launches as usual, so we’re curious if this mystery phone ends up being one of them.
