Xiaomi has finally launched its much-awaited Mi NoteBook 14 series laptops in the Indian market. The laptop series seems prominent with its sub ₹60,000(~$791) underprice segment. Some of the major highlights are Intel 10 generation processors, compact chassis, and up to Nvidia MX350 GPU.
Xiaomi has debuted two new models under the Mi NoteBook 14 lineup – the Xiaomi Mi NoteBook 14 Horizon edition and the vanilla Mi NoteBook 14. The Mi NoteBook 14 Horizon starts at ₹54,999(~$726) for the base variant with 8GB RAM/ 256GB SSD and i5 processor. The top variant with 8GB RAM/512GB SSD and i7 processor is priced at ₹59,999(~$792). It will be up for sale starting from June 17.
The Mi NoteBook 14 starts at ₹41,999(~$555) for base variant with 8GB RAM/ 256GB SSD, ₹44,999(~$594) for 8GB RAM/512GB SSD. The top variant with the same RAM/SSD configuration with Nvidia MX250 GPU is priced at ₹47,999(~$634). It will be up for sale starting from June 16 in the country.
Mi NoteBook 14 Horizon Edition and Mi NoteBook 14 Specifications
Both the series do not have any design differences but the internals certainly differs. The major difference between the two is the GPUs followed by the processor and built quality.
The regular NoteBook 14 Horizon Edition gets premium aluminum and magnesium alloy body with up to Nvidia MX350 GPU and Intel i7 10th gen CPU. On the other hand, the vanilla Mi NoteBook 14 has up to Intel i5 10th generation processors with up to Nvidia Mx250 and dedicated Intel Iris UHD 620 GPUs.
The Notebooks come in a 14-inch screen maintaining a compact design. As said earlier, the Horizon Editon is made up of aluminum and magnesium alloy materials, while regular NoteBook 14’s materials are unknown. Both the laptops have thin bezels with the webcam at the top.
The laptops have a decent battery with up to 10 hours usage on a single charge. The duo features a chiclet-style keyboard with spaced out keys and a large trackpad. There is no dedicated number pad but there are the multi-function num keys at the top.
Other than this, the NoteBooks are lightweight with under 1.5kgs. They come with Windows 10 and some Xiaomi pre-installed apps. With the Mi NoteBook 14 series, Xiaomi plans to expand its product portfolio propelling cheaper yet premium laptops for the Indian market.
