Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha Teardown Appears, Shows of Device’s Internals

The Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha made big waves in the tech world when it was announced, and it remains a marvel in the tech world as the only device of its kind. Naturally, tech enthusiasts have been eager to dig into the device and see what makes it tick, and now we’ve finally got a Mi MIX Alpha teardown.

A user over on Weibo disassembled an engineering sample of the device and took photos during the process, giving us a good look at the device’s innards. The device, as expected, was not exactly built to be opened up. The process was apparently quite the ordeal for the user.

With that in mind, they’ve done a surprisingly good job tearing the device apart. The components inside are densely and neatly packed together, though the engineering sample here is apparently missing a battery. Outside of that, the main board, screens and card holders are all intact.

It’s an interesting look into what exactly goes into designing a device like this, and it’s quite impressive to see. We’re hoping people eventually get to disassemble retail units too for a more accurate Mi MIX Alpha teardown. Until then, stay tuned on for more Xiaomi news.
