The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 has been officially released. It’s equipped with a 1.1-inch dynamic color, supports 100+ themed dials, has 11 professional sports modes, and supports 14 days of long battery life + magnetic charging.
It comes with NFC support even for global variants which makes one-touch payments possible even in other regions. For those who don’t know, the feature was earlier limited to the Chinese variant, though now it’ll also be available on the global version.

Outside of that, the Mi Band 5 supports 11 sports modes in the fitness tracker such as Yoga, Rowing machine, skipping, and more. It will come with better and more accurate heart rate monitoring and it also gets a SpO2 sensor for measuring blood oxygen saturation.
The Mi wearable also supports switching between hundreds of different dials. Xiaomi is also very proud that they’ve secured some fairly big IPs for their watch faces, including Detective Conan, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Hatsune Miku and Spongebob Squarepants.
One of the other new features coming to the Xiaomi wearable is the ability to trigger your phone’s camera shutter via the fitness band. We’ve seen similar implementations of this feature on other smartwatches, so it’s good to see this feature arrive on Mi Bands.
The Mi Band 5 standard version is priced at 189 yuan ($27), NFC version is 229 yuan ($32), and it’s set to go on sale on June 18. However, you can already get the Mi Band 5 from Giztop. We’ve also got a giveaway for it going on here, so check it out!
