Xiaomi Announces Mijia Laser Projector 1S 4K Edition, Launching June 9

Xiaomi has announced that their Xiaomi Mijia Laser Projector 1S 4K Edition will officially be launched June 9th, for a price tag of 14999 yuan ($2,117). The pre-sale price is set at 12,999 yuan ($1,835), and when you buy it, you will get a 2299 yuan ($325) air conditioner as part of the package.

The Mijia Laser Projector 1S 4K, as the name implies, can project content to up to 4K resolutions, with a 3000:1 native contrast ratio. There’s support for HDR10 decoding, high dynamic range screen rendering and a wide color gamut distribution, which should provide richer colours for the viewers.

Compared with previous Xiaomi projectors, the new Mijia Laser Projector 1S 4K can now reach an average brightness of 2000 ANSI lumens, meaning images are vivid even in daylight. The projector is tipped to be able to last up to 17 years of use, which is pretty long for a projector.

The projector uses ALPD 3.0 display technology to make the characters more natural and vivid. It is carefully adjusted by ISF certified engineers, the deviation of color reproduction is less than or equal to 2.9, and the color performance is more true to life.

Mijia Laser Projector 1S 4K Edition Display

On top of this, the projector also utilizes a 0,233:1 large depth of field ultra-short-focus lens design. The body can project a 100-inch large screen when placed 24cm away from a wall. The size of the displayed image can even go up to 150-inches.

As if that weren’t enough, the Mijia Laser Projector 1S 4K version also comes with a custom dual full frequency + dual high frequency sound system, bolstered further by Dolby Virtual Surround. It’s an excellent sound system configuration for the price.

Mijia Laser Projector 1S 4K Edition Ports

On the projector, we have three HDMI 2.0b ports, as well as a USB 3.0 port, an audio out port, AV input support and there’s also an ethernet port. It’s a very fully fledged projector, though it’s very much a niche product. We’ll need to wait for reviews to see how it performs, but on paper it’s very impressive.
