Vivo’s NEX series smartphone has always been a unique offering with some crazy designs and internals. Just like the last year’s Vivo NEX 3S 5G that came with a curved full-screen display and pop-up cameras, the upcoming NEX device for 2021 is also said to have the recent trend of under-display cameras.
Rumors are rife that the company might launch the NEX 2020 with a moniker Vivo NEX 5. It was earlier said to debut in the second quarter of this year but fresh leaks suggest a launch later in the second half of 2021. Nonetheless, the unique flagship from Vivo is coming and the leaks for it have started pouring.
A Chinese tipster has claimed that the upcoming Vivo NEX 5 will be a premium offering from Vivo that will come with a high-res waterfall display. It will also join the rare trend of under-display cameras and may have a selfie camera under the front display.
The device will boast a triple rear camera system powered by ZEISS optics. It is to be seen on what technology the company opts for its rear cameras.
Other than this, it is also said that the NEX 5 will have support for 120W fast charging technology and 60W wireless fast charging support. The chipset and other specs are still covered, but we expect some leaks to enter the rumor mill soon.
As of now, Vivo has not spoken a single word about the Vivo NEX 2021 a.k.a NEX 5 but considering it will offer a premium flagship experience we can expect a flagship Snapdragon chipset. With a grain of salt, we expect it to fuel the latest Snapdragon 888 or a flagship Dimensity SoC paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM. It may come with a bigger battery considering the crazy fast charging support.
