Chinese smartphone maker UMIDIGI has launched its new entry-level smartphone, the UMIDIGI A7S that comes with the unique AI Thermometer feature. The phone can measure temperature using the rear Infrared Thermometer sensor. It is also claimed to be the world’s first budget smartphone to do so.
The UMIDIGI A7S is priced at $69.99 for the 2GB + 32GB variant. It comes in Sky Blue, Peacock Green, and Granite Grey colorways and will go on pre-sale starting September 21 via AliExpress.
The smartphone comes with a 6.53-inch display with an HD+ resolution. It is a water-drop notch panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio and narrow bezels. The notch holds an 8-megapixel selfie camera. There is a triple rear camera with a 13-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek MT6737 chipset that has Mali-T720 GPU. It has a 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage which can be done via a microSD card slot. The device has a 4150mAh battery with 5W charging support. It has USB-Type-C port for charging and data transfer and it also supports OTG file sharing.
