OnePlus recently rolled out the Android 11 update for the 8 and 8 Pro smartphones, while those with the company’s 2019 phones are waiting with bated breath for the software to be sent out to their devices.
These include the OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T, and 7T Pro, along with the 5G variants. OnePlus is planning to roll the Android 11 goodness out to the 2019 roster at some point in Dec. This piece of information was reportedly revealed when Android Authority was interviewing a company spokesperson. Interestingly, the mid-range smartphone OnePlus Nord, which was launched with Android 10 OS not that long ago, wasn’t even mentioned.
Previously surfaced reports suggested that OnePlus’ 2019 flagships would receive Android 11 sometime next year. Considering that the 7 series packs different processors, the upgrades are likely to be rolled out at slightly different times. The OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro packs the Snapdragon 855, while the 7T and 7T Pro are powered by the 855 Plus.
There is a possibility that OnePlus is planning to push the Nord’s Android 11 update to 2021, but this move would contradict its “fast updates” mantra. The OnePlus 8T with Android 11 onboard was announced on Oct. 14.
