Chinese smartphone maker Tecno has officially launched its premium budget smartphone in Kenya. The all-new Tecno Camon 16 Premier comes with a unique rear camera setup and has a punch-hole display. The phone’s major highlight is the 64MP Sony IMX 686 sensor and the 33W fast charging support.
The Tecno Camon 16 Premier is priced at KES 28,990(~$275) for the sole 8GB RAM + 128GB variant. The company will bundle Tecno’s Hipods TWS earbuds for free with the phone. It will be available to purchase via the Jumia store.

The smartphone features a massive 6.9-inch LCD display with a Full-HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. It is a dual-punch-hole display with bear-minimum bezels. The front has a 48-megapixel primary and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. It sports a square-shaped unique quad-rear camera setup that has a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 primary lens.

It is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, third 2-megapixel dedicated night-mode camera, and last 2-megapixel portrait lens. There is a quad-LED flash below the camera lenses.
Inside, it is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It houses a 4,500mAh battery boosted by a 33W fast charging support. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and also has a support for Face unlock.
