Sony has officially scheduled a launch event on April 14 for the launch of its upcoming Xperia series flagship smartphone. Well, the company hasn’t confirmed which device will debut but rumors have it have that the Sony Xperia 1 III will make it to the event. Now, a tipster has revealed some specs of the smartphone tempting us for the actual launch.
According to the tipster, the Sony Xperia 1 III will come with a 6.5-inch OLED display with a 4K resolution. It is also touted to have a high 120Hz refresh rate and a 10bit color support.
Under the roof, the flagship smartphone will undoubtedly power the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of RAM. The smartphone is also expected to come in a top-tier 16GB RAM configuration.
Juicing up the device will be the 5,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. In terms of optics, it will feature a triple rear camera system and a single front-camera setup. The rear will boast a 64-megapixel primary lens, another 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle unit, and lastly a 12-megapixel telephoto unit.
Aside from the specs, the smartphone is tipped to launch in the Chinese market for an asking price of CNY 8,999(~$1,370).
