Sony Xperia 1 II was introduced earlier this year but the Chinese market has still not got the flagship handset. It is the company’s upcoming smartphone for China and it was said to land sometime late this year. Now, a new poster shared by Sony itself reveals a launch event scheduled for August 6 in China.
The teaser poster shared by Sony just reveals the launch date to be the 6th of next month at 11 AM. It doesn’t tip any sort of detail on what will exactly be tossed but some sources suggest that the Sony Xperia 1 II could make an appearance at the event. Additionally, it is also expected that the Sony WH-1000XM4 wireless headphone will land alongside.
We still don’t know what exactly will Sony launch but these two are the probable devices. While we wait, let’s take a look at the specifications of Sony’s upcoming flagship for the Chinese market.
Being a flagship handset, it is evident that the Sony Xperia 1 II powers the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 flagship SoC. It is an octa-core SoC and will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory. It sports a 6.5-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels. It is a 90Hz fast refresh rate display with Sony’s taller 21:9 aspect ratio. The bezels are a bit thicker as it holds the single camera and a couple of sensors. There is a 12MP Quad-camera setup at the rear with Zeiss optics and up to 4K video recording at 60fps.
The smartphone came a premium starting price tag of $1,299 and is expected to arrive at a similar price range in China. The Sony WH-1000XM4 could also land at a premium price standing above the WH-1000X3.
