Samsung announced the Odyssey G7 and Odyssey G9 curved gaming monitors at the Consumer Electronics Show(CES 2020). The Samsung Galaxy Odyssey G7 was later launched in South Korea but the G9 wasn’t unveiled. Now, Samsung has launched the Samsung Odyssey G9 curved monitor in the global market.
Samsung hasn’t released the official pricing of the curved gaming monitor but we expect it to break the silence soon. For now, let’s jump right into the internal and features of the gaming monitor.
The Samsung Odyssey G9 comes in a 49-inch display with a resolution of Dual Quad High-Definition or DQHD(5120 x 1440 pixels). It is a curved monitor with a 32:9 aspect ratio and 1000R curvature. Being a gaming monitor, it features a 240Hz refresh rate panel with 1ms GTG response time. It has Nvidia G-Sync support and also has HDR10+ support.
It has a flicker-free screen technology with multiple modes such as picture-in-picture, game mode, eye saver mode, low input lag mode, and some others. It has 178-degree viewing angles and has a 2500:1 contrast ratio. About the ports, it has an HDMI port, headphone jack port, 2x USB ports, and 2x display ports.
The gaming monitor lacks in-built speakers meaning users have to connect it to an external speaker setup. It has a monitor stand inside the box and the screen can be adjusted according to the viewer’s choice.
Other than this, the curved monitor has 52 colors and 5 different lighting effects to enhance the gaming scheme. It comes in a White color variant with White accents at the back of the monitor and has with black finish at the front display rims.
