    Samsung may introduce extreme ultraviolet (EUV) for next gen memory production

    According to the Taiwan Economic Daily, Samsung may introduce extreme ultraviolet (EUV) technology to produce memory next year. Xu Guojin, vice president of Micron and chairman of Micron Taiwan, said that Micron does not intend to follow up, and there is currently no EUV plan .

    Market research agency TrendForce predicts that dynamic random access memory (DRAM) may enter the EUV generation next year, and Samsung will be the first to introduce EUV technology to improve cost structure and production efficiency.

    Taiwanese media pointed out that Xu Guojin said in an interview on the 7th that Micron currently uses immersion equipment and can achieve the same effect with other manufacturing processes, and does not use EUV plans.
