RedmiBook Pro 15 Review: 3.2K Super Retina Full Screen, Beautiful Craftsmanship, Outstanding Strength

RedmiBook Pro 14 and RedmiBook Pro 15 were launched in China in Feb..2021, along with the Redmi K40 series of smartphones. The notebooks come in two sizes including, 14-inch and 15.6-inch sizes. The RedmiBook Pro 15 is currently up for sale bearing a $939 price tag on Giztop.

The integrated display version will set you back 4999 yuan, while the standalone version retails for 5499 yuan. The price/performance ratio is high.

According to officials, the RedmiBook Pro is equipped with the most Pro screen ever. The screen of the RedmiBook Pro 15 uses the new mainstream 16:10 ratio, boasts an ultra-high resolution of 3200×2000 pixels, and a high color gamut of 100 percent sRGB at the same time, and the display effect is delicate.

The design of the matte screen effectively resists the occurrence of reflections. This screen has passed the TUV Rheinland hardware low blue light certification as well. It is a 90Hz high refreshing screen, although high refreshing screens were more commonly used in e-sports gamebooks.

High refreshing screens can also be extended to the office scene since they offer a smoother sliding experience when it comes to browsing web pages or viewing documents, In other words, the RedmiBook Pro 15 not only enhances the current experience but also paves the way for the future content ecology.

The Intel Core H35 standard pressure processor is a new series of Intel for high-performance office laptops. The devices offer a better performance release level as compared to the traditional low-voltage processing. When tested, the instantaneous power of the processor reached over 40W under single baking, and then it stabilized at 28W.

The RedmiBook Pro 15 packs an MX450 discrete graphics card with a power of 25W. The graphics card delivers a good performance in games, especially for users with video editing needs.

During the extreme performance test of double roasting, the power of the graphic card remained above 25W. The power of the processor will be reduced to 12W at this time, but whether it is the core temperature and the body temperature, the fan sound control is excellent.

Redmi said it will launch a high-performance mode when it is officially shipped later. The maximum power supply of the RedmiBook Pro 15 is about 100W, which is a lot restrained, leaving a huge room for improvement.

As far as storage is concerned, rest assured that this SSD solid-state drive is a PCIe specification with a capacity of 512GB that can meet daily use. The read and write performance of the test suggests that the quality of this hard disk is good, even if a large-capacity file is loaded, it can complete the task efficiently.

In terms of memory, the capacity is mainstream 16GB, and the specification is DDR4 3200MHz. A higher frequency will have a better stimulating effect on the performance of the Iris nuclear display, but it already has a unique MX450.

While the hardware of the RedmiBook Pro 15 is excellent, Xiaomi and Redmi users will be more concerned about is the new mold. The company has already confirmed that the ancestral mold has retired. This is one of the most elaborate molds in the history of RedmiBook and Xiaomi notebooks, and it uses the CNC forging process.

We often come across the word CNC in the processing technology of the notebook shell, but usually, entry-level products only have CNC-cut highlight chamfers on the edges of the fuselage. For the RedmiBook Pro 15, the entire fuselage A side. The rotating shaft and the sidewall on the C side of the fuselage are all finely carved from a single piece of a metal ingot.

Moreover, the surface of the fuselage goes through an additional ceramic sandblasting metal anodizing process to give it a more integrated and beautiful feel. This also helps to bring the tolerances between the components to a very low level. For instance, the gap between the hinge and the fuselage is very small, but the details are handled well.

CNC integrated processing also improves the structural strength of the fuselage. RedmiBook Pro 15 uses an extra edge treatment on the D shell of the fuselage in a bid to form a stronger peripheral support frame structure. The device weighs in at just 1.79 kg, thanks to its matte screen and narrow frame body.

The thickest point is 17.25mm, which is acceptable for a 15.6-inch notebook. RedmiBook Pro 15 adopts a simple style, but unlike competing products, Redmi’s personalized design is less. Moreover, the processing of the C-side edge of the fuselage is a bit too simple, with a little “cut feel,” but it would have been better if the transition was softer.

The Home/End and page keys on the far right of the keyboard are also useful. The keyboard has been re-engraved on RedmiBook Pro 15. The two of the biggest changes include a softer feel and an upgraded backlight.

There’s a large area of glass material on the touch panel that offers a good sliding experience. The new set of RedmiBook Pro 15 molds, the high-profile fingerprint recognition, and the top camera have been brought back.

The RedmiBook Pro 15 boasts an H35 standard pressure processor, MX450 independent display, 3.2K screen resolution, 90Hz high refresh screen. All this requires a sufficient guarantee in terms of battery capacity. The device is backed by a robust 70Wh battery, which guarantees all-weather use when working outside.

A 100W portable adapter is included as standard. The Thunderbolt 4 interface is placed on the left side of the fuselage, delivering an input power of 100W. Other interfaces include HDMI 1.4 and USB 3.2, which are on the left side. A full-featured USB-C interface can also be charged.

The right side houses a USB 2.0 and headphone jack. The RedmiBook Pro 15 has WiFi 6 wireless network card for a wireless connection, as well as Bluetooth 5.2, which delivers superior connectivity.

    Xiao Ai Key

The RedmiBook Pro comes with an independent Xiao Ai Key, which is located in the right corner of the keyboard. At the MIUI 12.5 conference last year, Xiaomi said it would integrate MIUI resources to offer a collaborative office experience for mobile phones, PCs, tablets, and other devices. The feature has appeared on the RedmiBook Pro.

You can activate the Xiao Ai Key using your voice. In terms of functions, it answers basic questions, controls home appliances, and offers details about the weather. On a laptop, however, it can be used to run installed applications, open web pages, adjust volume, screen brightness, and query files, making it a great choice for a home office.

It also has Smart interconnection, which alludes to mutual transmission between MIUI+ and Xiaomi said at a recently concluded press conference. Note that the full functions of the MIUI+ need to be downloaded separately from the official website.

MIUI+ can break the boundaries between the MIUI phone system and the Windows system. On the computer, you can use the large screen to manage files on the phone, process documents on the phones, and more. Once the two devices are connected, you can share the clipboard.

It is worth mentioning here that there are only a few mobile phones and computers that currently support MIUI+. You can follow this link to purchase the RedmiBook Pro 15 from Giztop for $939.
