Xiaomi’s Redmi unveiled the Redmi Note 8 back in 2019 offering value for money handset with a great specs sheet. The device became so popular that it was considered the sole benchmarking device in the said segment. Redmi has now shared a report that reveals that over 25 million+ units of the Note 8 smartphone were sold globally. To celebrate this milestone, Redmi has announced a 2021 edition of the Redmi Note 8.
According to the tweet, the company will be launching a #ThePerformanceAllStar device, the Redmi Note 8 2021. The company has not revealed any further details apart from the moniker confirmation but the rumor mill has a few hints regarding its specs.
It is touted that the Note 8 2021 Edition will feature a 120Hz LCD panel over the 60Hz LCD on the original Note 8. It is expected to have a similar camera setup as the original but the processor will be upgraded to Helio G85 chipset.
The device is expected to have a similar battery capacity with super-fast charging support. Rumors suggest that the 2021 edition could have a 22.5W fast charging speeds.
