Every year, Omdia publishes a list of top 10 best selling smartphones of the year. Just like that, the analysis and consulting company has yet again shared the list of top 10 devices for the 1st quarter of 2020. Guess What? the budget Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro have made to the list.
Chinese smartphones from Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, and Vivo are always some of the top-selling brands in most of the regions. The global sheet from Omdia confirms that this time around the popular Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro made to the list in the first five.

As it is a global list, there has to be popular iPhones and other Samsung smartphones. But, in between the Flagships, the budget Redmi devices are topping above the last year’s iPhone XR and this year’s iPhone 11 Pro Max.
It was bound to happen as the budget series from Redmi offers incredible value for money and are favored in Asian countries like India and China. Overall, about 6.6 million units of Note 8 and 6.1 million units of Note 8 Pro have been sold in the first three months.
Other than this, there’s the iPhone 11 and Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy A51 smartphone with 19.5 and 6.8 million units sold respectively. The 2020 list also has the Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S20+ 5G, a couple of budget Galaxy devices, and the iPhone 11 series.
In comparison to the 2019 Q1 list, the Xiaomi’s Redmi devices have taken a leap in the Q1 of 2020.
