Xiaomi is gearing towards the launch of its next K-series smartphones in its home market. Last year, the company unveiled the Redmi K30 5G, Redmi K30 Pro, and Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition. Later tossing the Redmi K30 Ultra with some tweaked features. Now, the company will be launching the successor Redmi K40 series and it is expected to hit the floors next month. Earlier today, Product Director Wang Teng Thomas shared on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo that the company could be launching more than two devices with the same chipset.
By now it is known that the upcoming flagships from Redmi will fuel the newly launched Snapdragon 888 SoC. The post below from the Product Director confirms that both the upcoming K40 phones will power the Snapdragon 888 chipset. Just like last year, we expect there will be some camera and feature-changes in these two models.
These two upcoming flagships could be the successor of the Redmi K30 Pro and Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition. Later, Redmi might as well launch more than two K40 models in the home town.
As of now, there are scarce details on the same but what we expect is a high refresh rate display with a bigger battery and a few camera improvements. The web also has something to say about the starting price of the series. The Redmi K40 series is expected to start at CNY 2,999(~$462).
