Redmi K40 Pro, K40 Gets 230,000 Reservations In China

Xiaomi will take wraps off its upcoming Redmi K40 series on February 25 in the Chinese market. The series comprises two devices, the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro. Redmi held reservations for both the phones on February 19 on the JD.com shopping portal to learn about its market acceptance. Today, the company has revealed it has received over 230,000 reservations for the smartphone series.

These numbers themselves say that just like every Redmi K-series phone, the K40 series devices are also popular even before the launch. Well, the reservation numbers are quite good but are not as good as the previous K30 series reservations. Anyways, it is evident that the series will be a big hit in the Chinese market considering its leaked specs. The phones may also land in other markets including India and Europe sometime later this year.

    Redmi K40 Series Specifications

The Redmi K40 and K40 Pro will share many similarities and with that said, the phones are expected to come with a 6.67-inch E4 Samsung AMOLED display. It will be an FHD+ panel with a 120Hz refresh rate on both handsets.

As for cameras, the duo will feature triple rear cameras backed by Artificial Intelligence. The main difference will be in the primary sensor. The vanilla will flaunt a 64-megapixel main unit, whereas, the Pro will sport a 108-megapixel primary lens. There will be a single front camera for selfies.

Redmi K40 Pro, K40 Gets 230,000 Reservations In China

At the helm, the Redmi K40 Pro will power the latest and the greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and the K40 will fuel either the Snapdragon 870 chipset or a Snapdragon 700-series SoC. The duo will come with up to 8GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

Both the phones will house a 4,420mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The fast charging support on the Pro model might differ. The phones will run on Android 11 out of the box with MIUI 12.5 on top of it.
