Xiaomi took wraps off the Redmi K30 Ultra a few days back and the smartphone offers powerful internals at an affordable price. The device went on its first sale today being Xiaomi’s 10th-anniversary special device. Interestingly, the first sale of the device was spot on with over thousands of units sold in a matter of a few seconds.
Xiaomi on its social media has shared that the 10-year anniversary device has been sold out within a minute. With over 100,000 units sold Xiaomi has set a new milestone and the company seems to be ready for the next sale. Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi confirmed that the next sale will have even more units that the first sale and is expecting a similar response from the customers.
The newest flagship smartphone has not arrived in the global market yet but Xiaomi could soon launch it considering its demand in the home market. The smartphone is priced aggressively with a starting price of CNY 1,999(~$287) and offering MediaTek’s most powerful Dimensity 1000+ chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.
It is also available in other variants and the top variant will cost you CNY 2,999(~$388) for the 8GB RAM + 512GB of onboard storage.
The chipset inside the smartphone seems to be the right choice from Redmi, as boarding a Snapdragon SoC would have increased the cost and the Dimensity chipset offers more for less investment.
Well, not just the chipset, the smartphone also rocks a large 6.67-inch full-screen AMOLED panel made by Samsung. It has a high 120Hz refresh rate and a Full-HD+ resolution. The display supports HDR10+ content and has super-thin bezels. The front-camera makes the use of a pop-up mechanism and sensor is a 20-megapixel lens. The rear has a quad-camera array with 64-megapixel primary lens, 13-megapixel secondary lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens, and the last 2-megapixel depth camera.
It has a 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast charging support that is claimed to juice up that device rapidly. It has a vapor chamber and features 3D head dissipation pipes. The device boots the latest MIUI 12 out of the box which is based on Android 10.
