    Redmi 9i Launch Scheduled For September 15; Rumored To Start at INR 7,999($109)

    Xiaomi and its sub-brands have been launching a couple of budget devices with different names leaving no gap for contenders in the market. The company launched the Redmi 9, Redmi 9 Prime, and Redmi 9A which were also rebranded by Poco with different names. The company is now all set to launch the Redmi 9i next month which is rumored to be another rebadged device of the Redmi 9A with extra RAM and storage.

    According to tipster Ishan Agarwal via 91Mobiles, the Redmi 9i will be priced at INR 7,999 for the sole 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage variant. For reference, the Redmi 9A came in two options the 2GB RAM/32GB variant and 3GB RAM/64GB variant under INR 7,500. The new Redmi 9i will offer extra storage and RAM for INR 500 more.

    It is said to come in three color variants, the Midnight Black, Sea Blue, and Nature Green similar to the Redmi 9A smartphone. The launch is set for September 15 at 12 noon.

    Redmi 9i Expected Specifications

    The entry-level smartphone is expected to have the same internals featuring a 6.53-inch HD+ display and two cameras in total. The Redmi 9A has a 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras and the 9i will probably also have the same cameras. The 9A is powered by the Helio G25 so expect the same chipset with a battery capacity of 5,000mAh in the upcoming 9i. The device will run on MIUI 12 out of the box and compete with devices from Realme and Samsung.
