Xiaomi has finally launched its cheapest smartphone in home-town China. The all-new Redmi 9A was first launched in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Europe, now it has been tossed in the Chinese market. Interestingly the device will retail with more RAM and storage for less price as compared to other markets where it landed previously.
The Redmi 9A comes in only a single variant with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage priced at CNY 599(~$85). It is the cheapest Redmi smartphone and still comes with some mid-range level specs.
Starting with the battery itself, the smartphone houses a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging speed. No other manufacturer is offering a smartphone under $85 that offers this massive battery. It sports a 6.53-inch water-drop notch display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels.
It is powered by the MediaTek Helio G25 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone doesn’t come with a capacitive fingerprint reader but there is a software-based face unlock for security. There is a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It has a USB Type-C port for charging and retains the 3.5mm headphone jack.
