Xiaomi’s Redmi 9 was launched recently in the Indian market and it is still not available in an open sale. The company is currently selling it via flash sales on Amazon and Mi.com and it already went on its first sale earlier. Today, the entry-level smartphone will once again go on sale in the country.
The Redmi 9 phone’s sale will start today(21 September) at 12 PM Indian standard time. It will be available in two variants, the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant priced at ₹8,999(~$122) and the 4GB RAM + 128GB variant priced at ₹9,999(~$136). It comes in three finishes – Carbon Black, Sporty Orange, and Sky Blue.
Redmi 9 Indian model Specifications
The Redmi 9 Indian version is different from the global version as it is actually a rebranded Redmi 9C device without the NFC support. The phone sports a 6.53-inch Dot notch display with an HD+ resolution. It is an LCD panel with a 60hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio.
It boasts a square-shaped rear camera module that holds the dual-camera system with an LED flash. It has a 13-megapixel main lens and another 2-megapixel depth-sensing lens which will help in creating the Bokeh effect. At the front, the device flaunts a 5-megapixel lens for selfie shots.
Powering the machine is the MediaTek Helio G35 chipset. It is an octa-core SoC that is paired with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. There is a hybrid slot that has two SIM slots and a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 512GB. It has a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. It has a MicroUSB port for charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack for music sessions. The phone runs on Android 10 out of the box with the latest MIUI 12 on top of it.
