Redmi 9 Prime With Quadruple Cameras and Helio G80 SoC Launched In India

    Xiaomi’s Redmi has launched the all-new Redmi 9 Prime smartphone in the Indian market. It is nothing but the rebadged version of the Redmi 9 smartphone which was unveiled in China, Spain, and Malaysia earlier this year. The major highlights of the device are its Quad-cameras, Helio G80 SoC, and a massive battery.

    The Redmi 9 Prime is priced aggressively in the country and comes in two configurations. The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is priced at ₹9,999(~$133) and the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant costs ₹11,999(~$160). Just for a couple of bucks, the Indian consumers get double the storage.

    It comes in four enticing color variants – Matte Black, Sunrise Flare, Space Blue, and Mint Green. The device will be available for purchase as early access on August 6 for the Amazon Prime members and the first sale will begin on August 17 via Amazon and Mi stores.

    Redmi 9 Prime Smartphone Specifications

    The Redmi 9 Prime comes with a bit different design as compared to the predecessor Redmi 8. Instead of a glossy reflective finish, the 9 Prime comes with a Matte finish. It has a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display with a Full-HD+ resolution. It is a water-drop notch display with a Gorilla Glass 3 protection and taller aspect ratio.

    It has a Quadruple camera system at the rear comprising of a 13-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a third 5-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth unit. There is an 8-megapixel single front-facing camera for selfie portraits.

    The device draws powers from the MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. It has a monster 5,020mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The battery can be juiced up by the USB Type-C port at the bottom It has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner below the camera lenses and also has Face unlock for added security. It boots on MIUI 11 based on Android 10 out of the box.
