The Redmi 9 smartphone’s Bluetooth SIG documentation confirms its ID to be D050028 and the model number is M2004K19AG. It confirms that the device will get a Bluetooth 5.0 in terms of connectivity and will run on Android 10. The smartphone has been spotted with MIUI 11 software which means that it will initially come with an older UI but will get the MIUI 12 update later in the future.

Other than this, the same smartphone arrived at the 3C database that affirmed its battery capacity and charging details. Just like the predecessor, Redmi 8, the Redmi 9 will also get a bigger battery of 5,000mAh. It will support standard 10W charging speeds via the USB Type-C port.

Jumping to the other speculated and expected specifications of the smartphone, the Redmi 9 is tipped to power the MediaTek G70 SoC. The MediaTek G70 SoC is a budget octa-core chipset launched at the start of 2020. It is expected to be paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

As far as cameras are concerned, the phone is touted to feature a Quad-camera setup at the rear and a single front-facing camera. Sources suggest a 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel secondary wide-angle lens. It will be accompanied by a 5-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor for Bokeh shots.

Other than this, the smartphone will also retain the 3.5mm headphone jack for audio listening and a physical fingerprint scanner for security. It will also have a software-based face unlock just like its predecessor.

That’s what we know so far, but looking at brisk documentations and leaks, the launch seems to be forthcoming.
