Redmi 9 Arrives In The Malaysian Market At A Cheaper Starting Price Of $117

    After the Spain region launch, the Redmi 9 has now arrived in the Malaysian market. The Redmi 9 budget device that was said to go official in some more regions is now available in Spain and Malaysia.

    It has arrived in two variants – 3GB+32GB variant priced at MYR499(~$117) and 4GB+64GB variant priced at MYR599(~$140). It will be available for as low as MYR449(~$105) in the first flash sale in the country. To recall, this is cheaper than Spain’s starting price of $158.

    The smartphone has three colors variants – Carbon Gray, Sunset Purple, and Ocean Green. It will go up for its first sale on June 18 via the Shopee store.

    Redmi 9 Smartphone Specifications

    The Redmi 9 features a 6.53-inch display with an FHD+ resolution. It is a notch display with overall thin bezels except for the thicker bottom chin. It has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection that is said to survive a few drops and scratches.

    It has a Quad-camera setup consisting of a 13-megapixel primary camera. It is joined by an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, another 5-megapixel macro unit, and the fourth 2-megapixel depth-sensing lens. There is an 8-megapixel front camera for selfie shots.

    Under the hood, it rocks the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It has a 5,020mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. It also has a capacitive fingerprint scanner at the back below the camera lenses.
