Redmi 10X Pro Review – The best mid-range phone from Xiaomi

Redmi 10X Pro with water drop screen seems to be a bit outdated, but it is definitely more advantageous. There is nothing to complain about the quality of the screen. 6.57-inch Samsung AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400 × 1080, supports HDR10 +, peak brightness of 800nits, and no 90Hz only 60Hz. The appearance of the device is same as compared to Mi 10 Youth. It has four colors: purple, white, gold, and green.

The speaker is at the bottom, using a single speaker, the volume is still as loud as other redmi devices, but the 3.5mm headphone jack is retained. In addition, this device also have infrared remote control and supports NFC (only supported by Redmi 10X Pro). The thickness of this device is close to 9mm, and the weighs around 208g. It is not light and thin. The device also have 3d curved glass, but it will feels heavy weight if we will hold for a long time.

Redmi 10X Pro comes with mediatek dimensity 820 new mid-range processor. Currently Redmi 10X pro is the only device consists of dimensity 820 processor, this is an eight-core processor, which uses a four-core + four-core architecture, of which four large cores all use the 2.6GHz A76 architecture, and the four small cores are all 2.0GHz A55 cores. Compared with the previous specifications of mediatek dimensity 800, the biggest improvement is that the main frequency of the large core has been significantly improved, from 2.0GHz to 2.6GHz.

In terms of actual performance, the Geekebench 5 score of Dimensity 820 is around 650 points. Multicore is around 2600 points. The Redmi 10X Pro scored about 410,000 on the Antutu running score, which is also much stronger than the Snapdragon 765G and better than the Kirin 820.

GPU uses Mali-G57 MC5, the performance is much stronger than dimensity 800, closer to the level of Kirin 985. Antutu runs with a GPU score of 12W +.With this performance, if the price can be lowered enough, it is really quite powerful.

Another feature of dimensity 820 is it support for 5G networks, which enables dual 5G standby. And it uses a built-in integrated baseband, supports SA + NSA dual-mode 5G, and covers mainstream 5G frequency bands such as n1, n3, n41, n78, and n79.

According to the above characteristics, dimensity 820 has further optimized the 5G function. For example, the “Always On 5G” function will automatically select a better quality 5G signal according to the signal quality of the two cards, that is, when the signal of the 5G main card drops The secondary card will automatically switch when it is still on the 5G network.

For the shortcomings of 5G network power consumption and fast power consumption, dimensity 820 also supports 5G Ultra Save power-saving technology, which can dynamically adjust power management and control bandwidth, and automatically switch and activate sleep according to the traffic demand of data transmission. State, to further reduce power consumption. At the same time, Redmi 10X Pro will also automatically identify the user’s usage scenarios. When low traffic requirements such as typing chat will switch to 4G network, download and live streaming and other high traffic requirements will switch to 5G network automatically.

Let’s test with “PUBG“, and adjust the picture and frame number to the highest (HDR high definition +40 frames) without cracking. The temperature of the fuselage has been lower than the body surface temperature for the first 10 minutes, and slightly warm after 10 minutes, mainly concentrated near the camera. After 20 minutes, the fever did not continue to increase. The temperature of the camera part was still slightly higher than the body surface, and the temperature of the lower half of the body was lower than the body surface.

Later in this round, I changed the picture quality to smooth +60 frames, but the temperature did not increase or decrease significantly, and remained the same as before until the end of the game. It can be seen from the system tool that the CPU usage is about 40%, and the overall pressure is not large.

    Camera Test

There are quad rear camera’s arranged in a square matrix, primary camera of 48MP + 8MP super wide-angle + 8MP OIS telephoto + 5MP macro. Picture taken in the dark environment needs improvement & device night mode does not support ultra-wide angle shots & pictures taken with ultra-wide mode at night also needs to be improved. In terms of overall Camera quality, the performance at this price point is acceptable, and the zoom ability of the device is relatively good.

    Battery Test

Redmi 10X Pro With 4,520mAh, While playing PUBG battery dropped from 28% to 20% in less than forty minutes, and the performance was decent. Device Supports 33W fast charge within the box, device charges from 20% to 82% in half an hour, one hour is enough to charge the device completely.
