Redmi has powered the latest MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC in the smartphones. Let’s take a look at the details.

Just a few weeks back, the MediaTek announced the latest MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC. This is a mid-range chipset and is expected to board-in some 2020 mid-range devices. About the chipset, the Dimensity 820 is a 7nm 5G capable octa-core chipset that comes with Mali G57 GPU. It scored above 410,000 on the AnTuTu scores making it compete with some older flagship SoCs.

Being a mid-range SoC it has been implemented in the budget Redmi 10X series of smartphones making the devices a powerful budget offering from Redmi. Talking about the other specs of the smartphones. The Duo bags a 4,520mAh battery with 33W fast charging support on the Pro model and 22.5W fast charging tech on the vanilla 10X.

One of the noticeable difference between the vanilla 10X and the Pro model is the camera setup. Though the camera module is the same, the Pro model gets an extra lens over the vanilla 10X smartphone.

There’s a quad-camera setup on the 10X Pro consisting of a 48MP primary camera and an 8MP Zoom lens. There’s the third 8MP wide-angle lens and fourth 5-megapixel macro lens. At the front, it has a 20MP selfie snapper.
