Qualcomm on Tuesday unveiled the all-new Snapdragon 778G processor for mid-range smartphones. Just a day later, a few smartphone manufacturers came upfront and announced their upcoming phone powered by the same chipset. Now, the budget smartphone caterer Realme has officially announced that the company will soon bring a smartphone powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset.
According to a poster shared online, the upcoming device powered by the SD 778G processor will be codenamed as “Quicksilver”. Realme is said to work on the phone to make it available to the budget segment in a few selected markets.
While the poster shares almost no details about the specs of the smartphone, we have managed to get a few of its key details. We expect the device to boast a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with an FHD+ resolution. It is expected to have either 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate screen carrying a single selfie camera.
The smartphone could boast a triple rear camera system with a 48MP main, an 8MP secondary lens, and a 2MP tertiary unit. Accompaying the Snapdragon 778G SoC would be a 4,500mAh battery. Just like mid-range phones from Realme, we expect it to have a support for Dart fast charging.
As of now Realme is yet to comment on the specs of the smartphone, therefore, do take the aforementioned information with a grain of salt.
In related news, the competitor Xiaomi is also said to bring an offering with the same chipset. In future, we will also see iQOO, Motorola, Honor, and Oppo to use the same chipset in their mid-range phones.
