Realme has finally launched the much-anticipated Realme Watch. It’s set to go on sale for a mere Rs. 3,999 ($53), which is the same asking price as the regular Realme Buds Air. So, what exactly do you get for the price? Let’s take a deeper dive.
The Realme Watch has a 1.4-inch 320×320 colour touchscreen with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3 over it. The screen has a pixel density of 323 ppi and 380 nits brightness. There are 10 different levels of brightness, and 12 different watch faces available from the start. Realme claims they’ll be adding over 100 watch faces through OTA updates.
The smartwatch comes with the regular slew of health and notification features you’d have come to expect from a smartwatch. By default, it can help you keep track of the time, date, day, weather, step count, heart rate and burned calories you’ve accumulated, which is standard.
There are 14 different sports modes such as badminton, indoor and outdoor running, cricket and yoga, among others. We’ve also got sleep monitoring, sedentary reminders and hydration reminders, making it a fully fledged fitness band too for the most part.
On top of all this, it also features 24×7 heart rate monitoring like the Realme Band. The difference is that the PPG sensor in the Realme Watch comes from Goodix. There’s even a SpO2 monitor onboard, which measures the wearer’s blood oxygen level at any time.
Other features include Smart Notifications for many different apps and IP68 dust and water resistance, as well as the new Camera Control and Music Control. Music Control is self explanatory, while Camera Control essentially lets one trigger their phone camera shutter from afar.
The Realme Watch has Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity, and can work with any smartphone that runs Android 5.0 Lollipop or above. The important thing is that the phone needs to have the Realme Link app installed to connect with the smartwatch.
The smartwatch runs on a 160mAh battery that is advertised to deliver seven days of usage with the heart rate monitor activated, and nine days of battery life with it turned off. We’ve also got a Power Saving Mode which is claimed to give 20 straight days of use on one single charge. As for weight and size, the watch measures in at 256 x 36.5 x 11.8mm, and weighs 31 grams.
The smartwatch will go on sale in the country on Flipkart and the Realme website starting 12pm on June 5. The smartwatch will come with the plain black strap as the standatd. The other colorful Fashion Straps will be sold separately later at INR 499 ($7) each.
