Oppo launched its much-rumored budget smartphone, the Oppo A53 2020 this week that comes with the new Snapdragon 460 chipset and 90Hz punch-hole display. It is the successor to the old Oppo A53 and has upgraded cameras, internals, and comes at a cheaper price.
The Oppo A53 2020 comes in a sole 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant priced at Rp 2,499,000(~$169). It has two attractive colorways, the Fancy Blue and Electric Black. It will go on pre-orders starting August 26 in Indonesia.
Oppo A53 2020 Smartphone Specifications
The budget smartphone sports a 6.5-inch punch-hole display with an HD+ resolution. It is an LCD panel that comes with a 90Hz refresh rate and thin bezels except for the bottom chin. In terms of cameras, the smartphone features a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 12-megapixel main sensor, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and last 2-megapixel depth-sensing lens. There is a 16-megapixel selfie camera at the top left.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 SoC. It is a new Octa-core chipset and first for any smartphone. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable via the microSD card slot.
It packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The battery can be juiced up by the USB Type-C port present at the bottom. The smartphone has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and also supports software-based Face Unlock. It runs on Android 10 and has Oppo’s ColorOS on top of it.
