OnePlus is expected to take the covers off the OnePlus Z in July. While the company continues to keep key details about the upcoming phone under wraps, several reports suggest it will either be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1000 SoC or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G SoC.
Placed under the upper mid-range affordable category, the OnePlus Z is touted as the Chinese handset maker’s next significant launch. The phone will be unveiled in Jul. this year, but CEO Pete Lau has hinted at another product’s unveiling at the same time.
Just like the recently unveiled OnePlus 8, the OnePlus Z has been subject to all sorts of leaks and rumors for quite some time now. While details about the OnePlus Z are still scarce as the company continues to remain mum about its upcoming handset, the phone continues to see its fair share of leaks, with the recent one surfacing online in the form of a render.
The leaked render gives us a brief glimpse of OnePlus Z’s front side. Originally posted on Giztop, the leak is from a tempered glass screen protector that made its way on to the web recently. The recently spotted leak coincides with earlier leaked renders of the OnePlus Z and confirms the previously leaked design elements.
OnePlus Z is slated to hit the Indian store shelves in the coming months, going toe to toe with the likes of the Galaxy A51, and iPhone SE. During the interview, Lau confirmed that OnePlus is focused on making smartphones that fit inside the budget of those who unwilling to spend a lot of money on a smartphone.
Without directly mentioned the OnePlus Z, Lau said that an affordable phone is coming to India first, followed by the European and American markets. Best known for making affordable flagships OnePlus recently came under fire from critics and loyal fans for diverting from its core audience.
