Previously, we covered the OnePlus 8 Pro smartphone’s HD content streaming issue as reported by several users. Now, OnePlus has finally responded to the issue with a fix incoming later this month.
OnePlus 8 Pro is OnePlus’s latest flagship offering with top of the line hardware and features. With all this benevolence, the smartphone should run most of the things including the streaming of HD content. Sadly, some users from the OnePlus community bombarded on an issue where their smartphones were unable to stream HD content from apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Later, users reported that the issue was with the Widevine system where users have Widevine L3 security level instead of the superior Widevine L1. After the issue went all over the internet, OnePlus in response to Gadgets360, said “This is a known issue affecting a limited number of devices. We are working on an OTA to resolve this in late June”.
This Perorates the issue as the major reason for the downgrade of Widevine was due to the update. Now, OnePlus plans to push an OTA by the end of June that will probably switch the Widevine L3 system back to Widevine L1 making HD content streaming possible.
