OnePlus Nord To Feature 12GB RAM, Google Phone App, 90Hz Display, And More

    Dubbed as the OnePlus Nord, OnePlus’ hotly-anticipated smartphone has been floating around the rumor mill for quite some time now. Much to the delight of its huge consumer base that has been waiting with bated breath to get its hands on the new device, OnePlus has finally divulged some details about the mid-range flagship smartphone.

    The popular smartphone maker shared this new information via a post on OnePlus forums. Referring to the smooth experience on Nord, the new information comprises the display refresh rate, the processor, RAM capacity, and a slew of other tweaks. it is worth noting that some of these details have already been leaked online.

    It is good to have official confirmation about previously leaked details before the phone finally hits the store shelves. The device will come with a 90Hz refresh rate, along with improving the sampling rate from135Hz to 180Hz. This will help the display and software to detect user’s touch inputs faster.

    While the improvement may not be evident during general usage, it is likely to make a considerable difference in multiplayer games. Providing some context, OnePlus points out that the OnePlus 7T features 135Hz touch sampling. The company says it spent nearly three months to make the screen animations smoother.

    Earlier reports have indicated that the phone will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 5G SoC under the hood, and come with a dedicated AI engine. Moreover, the company says it will offer up to 12GB of RAM on OnePlus Nord to ensure overall smooth operation. OnePlus has teamed up with Google to bring  Google Comms Suite to the smartphone. This includes  Google Phone app with Google Messages, the Dialer, and Google Duo. The OnePlus Nord is the company’s first smartphone to come with the aforesaid apps straight out of the box.
