The Photochrome or the renowned IR camera feature is getting disabled even on the global variant of the OnePlus 8 Pro devices. OnePlus in its recent update confirmed the removal of the captivating feature. Let’s take a look.
OnePlus launched the OnePlus 8 Pro smartphone with a Photochrome mode that avowed the users to an unusual feature of the IR camera. Earlier While the launch, none knew that it had this kinda exclusive feature that can see through gadgets and certain things. The feature came into prominence when people learned about the ability to see through even clothes. It became a major privacy concern and soon after the feature was removed in the Chinese HydrogenOS of OnePlus 8 Pro smartphones. Now, the company is disabling it even on the OxygenOS for global devices.

In some devices, the company has already pushed an OTA update that states “Photochrome filter temporarily removed for adjustment. The feature is expected to come back around June, but the exact time is subject to the latest official announcement.”
In the OxygenOS 10.5.9.IN11AA, we learn that the feature will be temporarily vanished and will arrive sometime in June. Though there are no bits on what the June update brings but we expect it to be limited to a certain extent.
