Fresh off the news that the Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 may be running an AMD Ryzen APU, we now get news that the Surface Go 3 might also be running one, though it’s certainly not one we’re familiar with.
These leaks come from a forum poster who has previously correctly predicted the specifications of other Microsoft products like the Surface Go 2. According to them, the Surface Go 3 will be powered by the unannounced AMD Ryzen “Pollock” APU.
Rumors have been going around regarding the new AMD Ryzen “Pollock” APU for a while now. We can gather from reports that the “Pollock” APU is designed for weaker and lighter mobile devices, with a low 4.8W TDP.
In fact, one of the main reasons the “Pollock” APU has been making rounds is because of it’s allegedly “being considered for use in the successor to the Surface Go 2”. Going off these latest leaks, it appears to have been successful.
