Xiaomi has finally made the Mi Band 5 official in the global market. The fitness wearable was unveiled in China earlier and now it has launched at the Xiaomi global launch event with most of the features except for NFC and SpO2 sensor.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is priced at $39.99 and comes in multiple colors staps. To recall, the band 5 came at CNY 189(~$27) for the non-NFC version and CNY 229(~$32) for the NFC version in China. The global model comes a bit higher price but does not come with NFC support and blood saturation meaning sensor. Interestingly, there is an Earlybird offer where the Mi Band 5 will be available for just $34.99.
It will be available in Mi Home and via the Online Xiaomi website. The sale date is unknown but it should soon go on sale globally.
Xiaomi Mi Band 5 Highlights and Features
The Band 5 has a 1.1-inch touch screen display with thinner bezels than the predecessor. It is an AMOLED panel with a brighter and larger screen. It comes with a heart rate sensor, sleep monitoring, and stress management feature.
There is a women-centric feature, the menstrual cycle tracking, and also comes with a remote camera feature. It has 11 sports modes such as elliptical, rowing machine, indoor and outdoor cycling, running, and even the new Yoga mode which was not seen in the previous Band 4.
Xiaomi claims 14 days of battery life and it can be juiced up by the new magnetic connector. It has a plethora of watch faces that can be tweaked via the native app and even from the Band.
