LG Electronics demonstrated some new display technologies at the InfoComm 2020 event held from June 16 to 18. At this event, the Korean technology company demonstrated the new LG LED Cinema Display and transparent OLED touch screen.
LG LED Cinema Display is a cinema screen that uses high-brightness LED modules made for theaters. It is said that compared with digital projectors, this technology can provide a more uniform film screen without distortion. The company has provided such a large display for a Taiwanese cinema called Showtime Cinema.
In addition, LG also introduced a new transparent OLED touch screen, the touch screen has a light transmittance of 38%, and its possible applications include commercial fields such as airports, museums and even shops. It is worth noting that it supports multiple transparent displays that can be installed side-by-side, and some stores already use the technology.
These two new display technologies have a wide range of applications. In the future we may even see such smartphones with transparent screens, shops with interactive windows, etc. These displays have begun to lay out in certain areas, and are expected to be extended to other applications soon.
