The iQOO Z1 is launching tomorrow, and there’s really nothing else to say about it that we don’t already know. We know most of the specs, we’ve seen renders, and we know what it runs on. At least that’s what we thought, but now we’ve got Geekbench scores showcasing the device’s performance.
The iQOO Z1 appeared on Geekbench as the vivo V1986A, and it managed to score 781 points in the single core performance benchmark, and a 3070 in the multi-core benhcmark. As expected, it’s powered by the Dimensity 1000+ chipset, and it’s paired with a large 8GB of RAM.
When it comes to software, we’ve got Android 10 which is nice. The numbers are actually quite impressive considering it’s a MediaTek chipset. For perspective, the Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G scores 803 in the single core and 3074 in the multi-core, and that’s with the Snapdragon 865 chipset.
With this new information in mind, we’re extremely excited to see how it performs in real life. MediaTek have been making huge leaps and strides towards improving their chipsets, and now we’ve finally reached a point where they’re matching up pound for pound with Qualcomm’s offerings.
The iQOO Z1 will finally get unveiled tomorrow, and we’re looking forward to seeing it. With this news, we might finally see MediaTek shake up the mobile chipset market once and for all, especially if the device manages to hit a sweet price point.
