    iQOO Z1 5G Officially Launched!

The iQOO Z1 5G has been the star of the show here at Giztop for a while now. The device was slated to be the first device running the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chipset, and as time went on we only learned more and more tantalizing details about it. Now that it’s finally here, we can finally take a closer look at just what’s going on under the hood.

From a design standpoint, there’s really not much to say here. The iQOO Z1 5G looks like the iQOO Neo 3, and that’s not really a surprise or a coincidence. The device is built on the blueprint of the Neo 3, but this time there’s a MediaTek at the heart of it over your typical Qualcomm option.

Now first and foremost, yes, this is the world’s first MediaTek Dimensity 1000+, and the chipset’s looking like a real winner to us. There are 4 Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2.6GHz, and 4 Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. Accompanying that is the Mali-G77 GPU. For storage configurations, we have an 6GB/8GB of LPDDR4X RAM + 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

Keeping everything running is sizable 4,500mAh batter with 44w Super FlashCharge technology. The display is a 6.57-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080) IPS display, with a hold punch and 144Hz refresh rate. This all fits in a chassis that’s 163.97 x 75.53 x 8.93mm in size, and weighs 195g. It’s a bit heavier than most flagships, but it’s not overly heavy so it should be solid.

When it comes to cameras, we’ve got a primary 48MP, f/1.79 main sensor, an 8MP f/2.2 wide angle lens and a 2MP f/2.4 macro camera. The front camera that sits in the punch-hole cutout meanwhile is a 16MP f/2.0 unit. The camera package wasn’t really hyped, but we expect it to comparable to the iQOO Neo 3. There’s even support for 4K HD video shooting, as well as 1080P HD slow-mo video shooting.

As for other features, we’ve got a 3.5mm headphone jack here, which is excellent. There’s a side mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.0, dual frequency GPS, NFC and Wi-Fi 6. IQOO claimed the iQOO Z1 5G would support a lot of 5G bands, and we’ve got the complete list right here.

    iQOO Z1 5G Band Support:-

    5G: n1/n3/n41/n77/n78/n79

    4G+: B1/B3/B39/B40/B41/B384G

    FDD LTE: B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B8/B18/B19/B25/B264G

    TDD LTE: B34/B39/B40/B41/B

    iQOO Z1 5G specs

Overall, we really do still maintain the opinion that it’ll be a very solid device, and we expect it to at least make some sort of splash in the smartphone market. It’s well designed, and as the traiblazer for the new line of MediaTek chipsets, it’s going to need to make a good first impression. As for pricing, we’ve got all the official prices here, and they aren’t too bad.

    • 6GB+ 128GB — CNY 2198 ($309)
    • 8GB + 128GB — CNY 2498 ($351)
    • 8GB + 256GB — CNY 2798 ($394)

As you can see, the prices are fairly on competitive in a market cornered by smartphones that cost over $RT otor now however, stay tuned on Giztop.com.
