iQOO has quietly launched the new U1 mid-range smartphone in the Chinese market. To recall, the company launched its first mid-range device called iQOO Z1x and now the U1 is the second mid-range handset from iQOO.
Unlike the iQOO Z1x 5G, the iQOO U1 is a 4G handset and it starts at CNY 1,198(~$171) for the 6GB + 64GB variant. The 6GB + 128GB variant will retail for CNY 1,398(~$200) and the top variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage will go for CNY 1,598(~$228).

The smartphone comes in Black, Blue, and White colorways and will go on sale from July 23 in China.
iQOO U1 Smartphone Specifications
The iQOO U1 comes with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display with an FHD+ resolution. It is a punch-hole panel with a 90.72 % screen-to-body ratio and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
It powers the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC with a 4,500mAh battery. The battery is boosted by the 18W fast charging support that can be charged via the USB Type-C port present at the bottom. It has 6GB and 8GB RAM options and up to 128GB of internal storage. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and also has a software-based face unlock for security.
As of optics, there is a triple camera setup placed vertically at the rear. It consists of a 48MP + 2MP + 2MP setup out of which two lenses are for macro shots and depth sensing. There is also a single 8MP front camera for selfie shots.
With this handset, iQOO has entered the budget segment of 4G handsets and will stand below the recently launched iQOO Z1x.
