iPhone SE 2020 was unveiled back in April this year and was assembled in China. Now, a new report online suggests that the handset will soon be available with ‘Assembled in India’ tag instead of ‘Assembled In China’ as the Wistron facility in Karnataka, India has already started the assembly process.
Now that the device will be assembled in India it is expected to benefit both the consumers and the company as Apple will be saving 20% of import duty on the smartphone and the pricing is expected to get lowered. The smartphone was launched at a starting price tag of INR 42,500(~$571) but currently, in the Flipkart sale, it is available for just INR 35,999(~$484).
With the phone getting assembled in India, it is expected to set at a similar price tag as seen in such sale days.
Other than this, Apple has already started assembling the iPhone 11 in India which is also expected to affect the pricing, and headlines also have it that the new iPhone 12 will be manufactured In India from next year.
