Nova 8 is the next mid-range series from Huawei for its home market. The Huawei Nova 8 series is officially scheduled to launch on December 23 and the leaks for it have been on and off. Said that the specifications have been scarce and we all were waiting for the same. Now, the popular tipster Digital Chat Station via Mydrivers has shed some light on the internals of the phones.
For those who are unaware, the Huawei Nova 8 series will consist of the Nova 8 and the Nova 8 Pro. It will be a successor of the Nova 7 series that debuted earlier this year. According to the tipster, the new Nova 8 series will power the 7nm Kirin 985 SoC which is the same chipset seen in the predecessor Nova 7 series.

Huawei deploying an old chipset was inevitable(considering an in-house kirin SoC) thanks to the US ban as now they no longer can produce Kirin SoCs. Anyway, it seems that the successor to the Nova 7 series will have some other fancy specs except for the chipset.
Some previous leaks revealed that the Nova 8 series will have high refresh rate displays with a 90Hz refresh rate on the vanilla and a 120hz refresh rate on the Pro model. This will be an upgrade from the standard refresh rate screen seen in the predecessor.
The vanilla is expected to have a 64MP primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide angle unit, a 2MP tertiary lens, and a last 2MP depth sensor. The Pro is said to have the same setup with better front cameras. The Nova 8 will equip a 32MP single selfie lens and the Nova 8 pro will have a 32MP + 16MP dual selfie system.
Aside from this, the series is expected to start at CNY 3,000(~$458) and will be initially exclusive to the Chinese market.
