Huawei FreeBuds 4i Review: New TWS Earphones With ANC, Up To 10 Hours Of Battery Life And 10mm Drivers

Huawei unveiled the Huawei FreeBuds 4i wireless headsets on Feb. 21. The device comes with ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) for a noise-free sound experience, along with improved battery prolonged use cases, better design, and superior quality audio effects.

TWS noise-canceling headsets have become a daily necessity for several people due to their compact design, portability, and noise reduction function, offering users a more immersive listening experience. Huawei’s recently introduced wireless headset is designed to offer all this, as well as a more profound experience.

Huawei’s FreeBuds series has been one of the best compact headphones that offer active noise reduction. The latest entrant in the popular series is the Huawei FreeBuds 4i wireless headset. Giztop is currently accepting pre-order for the Huawei FreeBuds 4i.

The charging box of the HUAWEI FreeBuds series earphones adopts a cute design that resembles a makeup mirror. While the FreeBuds Pro comes in a more rounded contact lens case kind of shape, the FreeBuds 4i wireless headset comes in an oval charging case. The case feels silky in the hand and is extremely light and burdenless.

The HUAWEI logo is placed on the front, along with an indicator light. The function key is located on the right side, while the bottom houses the Type-C charging port. The two exquisite earphones feature a round design due to the overall curved design. There are three comfortable-to-wear silicone earplugs.

A single earphone weighs in at only 5.5 grams, so it feels very comfortable in the ear. The charging contacts are placed inside the earphone handle, unlike most products that have contacts placed at the bottom. The FreeBuds 4i wireless headset is up for grabs in three highly appealing color options including black, white, and red.

The headset’s Bluetooth connection function is also smooth. Once you open the headset box cover, you will see a connection prompt pop-up window on your Huawei mobile phone All you need to do to complete the operation is to click connect.

The Bluetooth pairing process is eliminated. You just need to open the box cover to see the power indicator of the headset, and then the headset can be disconnected. To connect to other devices, you just need to press and hold the function key on the side to reset the device.

Once the pairing process is completed, you can open the lid of the FreeBuds 4i wireless headset and it will automatically connect to the phone. It supports automatic wear monitoring during use when you open it in the smart life APP. The playing video or music will automatically be paused, and the playback will automatically continue when you put the headset again within 3 minutes.

Designed to deliver exceptionally stunning performance despite its compact design, the FreeBuds 4i wireless headset features multiple microphones on the handle that helps detect environmental noise and works with ANC algorithms to create inverted sound waves to cancel noise signals to achieve noise reduction effects.

In some cases, people must communicate with the outside world and listen to the sound. Just long-press the ear handle of the headset to switch between noise reduction and transparent transmission mode. You can long-press and tap two to control the modes.

There are different touch modes to make calls, switch between songs, and other functions. The headset has a built-in capacitive touch sensing device so all you need to is double-click the ear stalk to enables these functions. You can use the Smart Life APP for personalized settings.

The FreeBuds 4i wireless headset features a dual microphone call noise reduction design. There are two microphones on the outside to capture more accurately through beamforming technology. The secondary microphone has a unique butt-through slit duct design, which minimizes the wind noise caused due to air friction at the pickup ports of the two microphones for a clearer and smoother call, regardless of the environment.

The headset uses a large-size 10mm moving coil unit that assures good resonance, while the PEEK+PU polymer composite diaphragm guarantees strong bass performance. Moreover, it is optimized for various popular music, effectively matching low, mid, and high audio including vocals, musical instruments, electronic sound generators, and a slew of other sound sources to a reasonable ratio.

Battery life is one of the important factors that affect the overall experience. According to official data, Huawei’s new headset can offer up to 10 hours of music playback time fully charged, and 6.5 hours of continuous talk time. This can be extended to 22 hours and music playback and 14 hours of talk time with the charging box.

Since it is equipped with a low-latency algorithm that assures the synchronization of sound and picture, the FreeBuds 4i wireless headset is ideal for playing games and watching dramas. Moreover, the superior performance of the noise reduction microphone enables you to communicate with teammates without delay.

Aside from that, the FreeBuds 4i wireless earphones are equipped with a fast-charging function. When charged for just 10 minutes, the earphones let you listen to your favorite music for 4 hours. You can pre-order the Huawei FreeBuds 4i from Giztop by following this link.
