While Huawei aren’t strangers to the usage of MediaTek processors in its devices, they’ve yet to use a MediaTek SoC with a 5G capabilities. That may change soon as a brand new spec leak of an upcoming smartphone known as the Huawei Enjoy Plus 20 has appeared online, and it’s been found that the device utilizes the Dimensity 800 5G processor.
The spec sheet was posted on Weibo by user @Really Assen. The Dimensity 800 5G is MediaTek’s cheapest 5G processor and the 7nm chipset is presently found in the OPPO A92s. It gives performance that surpasses the Snapdragon 730G, which is Qualcomm’s closest offering price-wise. However, Huawei’s very own Kirin 820 5G processor is a more powerful chipset, which makes the decision rather odd.

The spec sheet says the device will have a 2400 x 1080 LCD display with a 60Hz refresh rate. There is no information on the screen size or the design. The processor could also be paired with 6GB/8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 expandable storage.
It will also have a 16MP Sony IMX471 selfie camera, a 48MP Sony IMX586 main rear digital camera paired with an 8MP ultrawide angle camera, and 2MP cameras for a quad-cam setup. The Huawei Enjoy 20 Plus is also expected to to feature a decently sized 4,200mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging over USB Type-C. The spec sheet even exhibits the device’s projected price tag. The 6GB RAM version will be sold for 1899 yuan ($268) and 2199 yuan ($311) for the 8GB RAM model.

We’ve yet to obtain any concrete information regarding the launch of the device, though we wouldn’t be surprised if we see it launch soon. For context, the Huawei Enjoy 10 Plus was launched back in September 2019. It has been well over 6 months already, and it’s really about time for a successor to it to arrive.
