Huami are planning to hold an AI innovation conference on June 15th, with some mystery product to unveil. Earlier today however, Huami Technology officials have begun teasing that it will release a new generation of AI chips for wearable devices at the event.
To tease the upcoming AI chips, Huami released a poster claiming that their Huangshan No.1 chip was merely a prototype or a test for future chips. They then claim that if that was simply a test, then what will the final product be like? We’ll probably see the answer to that on June 15.

The Huangshan No.1 wast the company’s first artificial intelligence chip, and it’s been powering essentially every Huami wearable since its release. It was already a fairly good performer, with plenty of features ranging from the standard fitness band sport tracking to heart monitoring.
Huami CEO Huang Wang claims that the new chip will feature improved performance and better power efficiency, though that only makes sense. We’ll need to wait and see what happens at the unveiling conference.
