The tablet market has been as silent as grave for the last couple of years, at least in the global market. Apart from Apple’s iPad and a couple of Tablets from Samsung, there has been nothing else in the segment. The same was completely different in the Chinese market. The region has been receiving tablet devices from giants like Huawei and Redmi. Just like that, Huawei has now unveiled the all-new Tab X7 under the Honor branding. The Honor Tab X7 comes at affordable pricing with a big 8-inch display and a single camera setup.
The Honor Tab X7 Wi-Fi comes at a price of CNY 899(~$140) and the Tab X7 4G LTE model is priced at CNY 1,199(~$185). The tablet also comes in a Children’s version priced at CNY 999(~$155). It has a single color variant that comes with a matte finish.
Honor Tab X7 Specifications and Highlights
The Tab X7 has an 8-inch form factor where the display is an IPS screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Huawei claims that it has thinner bezels and it maintains a screen-to-body ratio. The overall tablet does not have a unibody color as it features a black color at the front and a blue finish at the rear.
The screen has TUV Rheinland certification and also checks ticks from the Chinese National Eye Engineering Center. It ensures that the screen isn’t harmful for long-term usage. At the front, it has a 2-megapixel front camera for selfies and video meetings and a 5-megapixel rear camera for quick captures.
What’s powering the tablet is the MediaTek MT8768T chipset coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It packs a 5,100mAh battery that is claimed to last for up to 10 hours for video playback. The tablet runs on Magic UI 4.0 based on Android 10 out of the box. The Children’s version comes with software tweaked with educational features.
