Honor Play 4 And Honor Play 4 Pro Launched With MediaTek And Kirin SoCs; Starts At CNY 1799($252)

Honor has finally launched the much-rumored Honor Play 4 series of smartphones. It comprises the Honor Play 4 and Play 4 Pro smartphones. The Play 4 comes with the MediaTek’s Dimensity chipset, whereas, the Pro gets the Kirin SoC.

    Honor Play 4 Smartphone Details

The Honor Play 4 sports a 6.81-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution. It is a hole-punch panel with thin bezels. Though the bezels overall are thin, still it has a thicker bottom chin.

The 5G smartphone features the Quad-camera setup at the rear consisting of the 64-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.89 aperture. It is accompanied by another 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, third 2-megapixel macro sensor, and last 2-megapixel depth sensor. It is a vertical camera module with a dual-tone LED flash beside the camera lenses.

What’s powering the device is the newly launched MediaTek Dimensity 800 chipset bundled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It has a 4,300mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support.

It comes in Black and Blue finishes and is priced at CNY 1799($252).

Honor Play 4 Pro Smartphone Details

The Honor Play 4 Pro sports a smaller 6.57-inch LCD panel with an FHD+ resolution. It is a dual-hole punch display schlepping a 32-megapixel + 8-megapixel sensors.

Unlike the vanilla model, the Pro consists only of a dual-rear camera setup which is odd but makes for a compelling choice from Honor. The dual-setup here is enough as it is a 40-megapixel Sony IMX 600 primary camera with RYYB filter. It is claimed to be a prominent sensor that can click good low-light shots with 40% more light than any other sensor. Honor suggests that it goes all the way up to ISO 204,800.

It is accompanied by another 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical and 30x digital zooming capability. There’s OIS support on the primary lens and an AIS support on the secondary lens.

The 5G handset ships with Kirin 990 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of base storage. It has 4,200mAh battery which is 100mAh less than the vanilla model. It has support for 40W fast charging technology that is claimed to juice up the device up to 90% in just 30 minutes of charge.

Additionally, it also comes with IR thermal that can check the body temperature using infrared. The feature is exclusive to the Pro model.

It comes in Black and Mecha Blue color variants and is priced at CNY 2899($410).
