Google Pixel 5 5G To Cost $699; Colors, Specs, and Launch Date

    Earlier this year, Google launched the much-awaited Pixel 4a smartphone with mid-range internals at a cheaper price. At the event, the company also announced the Pixel 4a 5G and the Pixel 5 5G. Later, the pricing of the Pixel 4a 5G was touted to be $499 but the pricing of the Google Pixel 5 5G was yet to be known. Now, a popular tipster has shared the pricing of the phone and affirmed its colors.

    Google Pixel 5 5G Pricing and Colors

    According to Jon Prosser, the Google Pixel 5 5G will cost $699 for the 128GB storage variant. Further, he tipped that the rumored Green color of the Pixel 5 5G will be officially termed as ‘Saga Green’. The color will be tossed along with the other standard Black color.

    The $699 is getting a key spot for all the budget smartphones from popular brands. Recently, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S20 FE for the same price and we can’t forget the cheaper iPhone 11 which was again propelled at the same pricing. Both the phones pack a flagship chipset whereas, the Pixel 5 is expected to come with the mid-range Snapdragon 765G SoC.

    Before we take a look at the specification of the Pixel 5 5G, let’s see what betterments will users get over the upcoming Pixel 4a 5G. The $499 Pixel 4a 5G will also pack the same chipset as the Pixel 5 5G which means users have to pay $200 more for other features such as a high refresh rate panel, slightly bigger battery, and extra RAM.

    Rumored Specifications and Official Launch Date

    Orating about the Pixel 5 5G’s specs, the smartphone has done rounds in the rumor mill and it is said to come with a 6-inch punch-hole display with an FHD+ resolution and the highlighting 90Hz screen refresh rate. It will have a 12MP Sony IMX355 main lens and another 16MP wide accompanying it. At the front, it will boast an 8MP selfie camera at the left top.

    Under the hood, the phone will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G mid-range octa-core SoC paired with 8GB of RAM. This will be 2GB higher than the Pixel 4a 5G. It will have a 4,000mAh battery which is again slightly bigger than the Pixel 4a 5G’s 3,800mAh cell. It will have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and dual-SIM(nanoSIM + eSIM) support. The Pixel 5 5G will miss out on a 3.5mm headphone jack which is present in the Pixel 4a 5G.

    The smartphone will go official this Wednesday on September 30. It will be an online launch event where the company is also expected to announce its next-generation Chromecast and Nest smart speaker.
