Cubot aren’t exactly the most well known company when it comes to technology, but they’re definitely one of the most active. They slowed down their releases during the pandemic, but have now come back swinging with the launch of the Cubot P40.
Now, what sort of specs are we looking at here? The Cubot P40 comes with a 1.8-GHz quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. There’s a 6.2-inch HD+ IPS display, and keeping everything up and running is a decent 4,100mAh battery.
On the back, we’ve got a quad camera setup, with a Sony IMX486 12MP main sensor, paired with a 5MP macro lens and another two 2MP sensors for AI scene recognition. Over on the front of the device, there’s a 20MP Samsung S5K2T7 front facing sensor for selfies.
For connectivity, the device features a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB-C port, which is good to see. There’s also NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, OTG, dual sim support and microSD card expansions. There’s even stock Android 10 on-board, which we simply love to see.
It comes in a choice of three colour options, those being Black, Green and Blue. The Cubot P40 will go on sale for $89.99 on AliExpress starting June 6, which is essentially half of its usual $169.99 price tag. The device will only be shipped in the next couple of weeks though.
